In a climate that is changing in more ways than one, Ecosocialist Horizons invites you to be a part of its fourth North American convergence in Pittsburgh, where a dynamic group of artists, gardeners, and activists will convene to raise gardens and share strategies and stories for resistance and renewal.

Socialism or ecosocialism? Mass organizing or ending empire? Help us discover the dialectic between revolution and prefiguration, for the restoration of the commons, as we “combine the provable and the unprovable in intense and invigorating environments.”

For three days in Troy, New York, at the Sanctuary for Independent Media, a diverse and multi-generational group of activists, educators, and artists will come together to discuss, plan and act around the most difficult and important questions of our times: How can we connect the local to the global? How can diverse movements and organizations work together toward common goals? What is our collective long-term vision for our activism and organizing? What are the connections between economic and ecological crisis? What democratic alternatives to capitalism can we build and how? What are the obstacles to this vision and how can we overcome them without making the mistakes of the past?

Join a global movement on the ecosocialist horizon! From worker coops to climate justice, from human rights to nature’s rights, from soil science to soul science, this convergence hosted by Ecosocialist Horizons will explore and expand the connections between diverse organizations and individuals working toward social and environmental justice. The convergence will begin on Friday, November 30th at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Northampton, MA, with a public event from 7 to 9pm.

On May 5th, 2012, Scientific Soul Sessions (SSS), a collective of revolutionary artists, farmers and organizers based in New York City, will launch a campaign to free RUSSELL MAROON SHOATZ, a 70-year-old political prisoner who has spent the last 40 years of his life in various penitentiaries across the United States.
