“If I can’t dance to it, it’s not my revolution.” – Emma Goldman
This September 20th, on the eve of the autumnal equinox and what may be the largest mobilization for climate justice in American history, a convergence of musicians, artists, activists, reformers and aspiring revolutionaries will gather in the Bronx for a concert and a political party to mobilize and celebrate our urgent work ahead.
We’ll start at 7pm and go all through the night. With guests from across the globe, a world class lineup of musicians and orators is guaranteed. This event will be hosted by The Villalobos Brothers, the winner of the NYC battle of the bands, and champion of the migrant justice movement. Performers will range from jazz to hip-hop, and speakers from the United Nations to the Ecosocialist Horizon, and beyond.
Featuring Ernesto Villalobos, Daro Behroozi, Ben Barson, Gizelxanath Rodriguez, Yalini Dream, Jendog Lonewolf, Dr. Michael Dorsey, John Clark, Patrick Bond, Colia Clark, Dr. Joel Kovel, William Camacaro and more!
Some believe that the People’s Climate March will change the world. Others fear that it does not go nearly far enough.
This will be a place for debate and dialogue about the strategy and the tactics, the theory and the practice, the ideology and the cosmovision of the global movement for climate justice.
“This isn’t about constructing a world rebellion. That already exists. It’s about constructing a space where this rebellion encounters itself, shows itself, begins to know itself.” – Subcommandante Marcos
This event is convened by Ecosocialist Horizons, an organization dedicated to building a partnership in the belly of the beast with the revolutionary ecosocialist movements of the global South.
“No matter how brilliant our attempts to inform, it is our ability to inspire that will turn the tides.” -Syracuse Cultural Workers
Food will be catered, for an affordable price, by RAWLIVITY, prepared by the visionary Peter Lew, co-author of “The Raw Extreme Manifesto“. Fresh produce will also be brought from organic gardens in Vermont!
